NutriGenesis Multi for men and Women overview

Performance Lab's NutriGenesis® Muti supplements for men & women include 17+ essential daily vitamins & minerals and have been calibrated for the specific nutritional needs of both sexes.

According to Performance Lab, NutriGenesis®, their ultramodern nutrition technology allows them to bioengineer their vitamins and minerals with cofactors that boost absorption and maximize benefits. This nutrition technology breakthrough, along with natural cofactors including probiotics, fiber, enzymes, and antioxidants enhances their bioavailability when compared to their synthetic counterparts. In simpler terms, the vitamins and minerals found in the performance Lab Multi mimic those found in whole foods thus allowing your body to recognize these micronutrients at a higher percentage rate and use them more effectively. Sounds pretty cool to me!

Ingredients

The performance Lab Multi packs a pretty serious punch when it comes to Vitamin and mineral content, but unlike some of its cheaper and poorer-quality alternatives, doesn't use any synthetic additives, caffeine, artificial colors or preservatives. It’s suitable for vegans, contains NO soy, egg, fish, shellfish, dairy, peanut, tree nuts, wheat, or other allergens, is Non-GMO and non-irradiated. It’s also banned substance tested. Something that’s extremely important if you’re an athlete and/or compete at a professional level.

The pros

Let’s start with the pros. Of which there are many!

  • Slightly different formulas that cater to the specific nutritional needs of men and women.

  • Claim to have a higher bioavailability (absorbency) than its competitors’ thanks to whole-food cofactors and their proprietary bioengineering nutrition technology.

  • Supply at least 100% Daily Value of 17+ essential vitamins and minerals.

  • 100% Clean, Vegan, Non-GMO, gluten, and caffeine-free.

  • Feature NutriCaps® which are naturally infused with prebiotic nutrition that may further support digestive health and comfort.

  • BPA-free bottles are manufactured from 20% post-consumer content and are 100% recyclable.

  • Eco-conscious shipping practices, including using recyclable shipping boxes and biodegradable packing peanuts.

  • Designed and formulated in the United Kingdom, and then manufactured in a state-of-the-art, FDA-registered and GMP-certified facility in New Jersey, USA.

The cons

I was struggling to find many cons but came up with a few.

  • Having to take 4 pills per day can be a little hard to swallow (excuse the pun).

  • Premium Price ($39 a month/$1.39 a day - Less when buying in bulk).
While this has been placed under “cons”, the quality and cost of research needed to develop such high-quality supplements make this product far better value than most of the inferior synthetic multivitamin supplement alternatives.

  • Not suitable if you are pregnant, nursing or under the age of 18.

  • Only available for purchase direct from Performance Lab.

How to take (dosage)

Performance Lab recommends taking 4 capsules daily. Twice per day with or without food.

If you have a deficiency in a specific vitamin or mineral, it's recommended to take the multi every day to allow optimal levels to be reached.

How Long do multivitamins take to Work?

On a biological level, vitamins and minerals can be absorbed very quickly and while you may not feel any difference initially, can have an almost immediate effect.

However, there are a few things that can affect their efficacy and absorption into the body. The first of which is your levels of deficiency. If you're extremely deficient in a particular vitamin or mineral, it could take slightly longer for your body to reach optimal levels.

Lifestyle factors such as alcohol, caffeine consumption, and smoking can affect the absorbency so try not to consume any alcohol or caffeine within 45 minutes either side of taking your multivitamin.

Did I feel any difference?

It's quite hard for me to determine what if any benefits that I felt from taking the Performance Lab multivitamin. As I tend to be extremely focused, diligent and consistent when it comes to eating a clean and healthy diet, I can't honestly say that I felt too much difference overall.

However, as someone that travels a lot and at times, has a very busy and demanding schedule, I can often feel quite low on energy and run down. Having the multivitamin to fall back on gave me a great sense of ease knowing that if I was having an off day, I was still getting everything I needed to perform at my best. If nothing else, taking a multivitamin acts as a great safety net.

Do you need to take a multivitamin?

I always like to try to answer the million-dollar question when I'm writing a supplement review. In this case, it's, do you need to take a multivitamin?

According to the NHS, most people do not need to take a vitamin supplement unless they are unable to get all of the vitamins and minerals needed for optimal health from diet alone. That means that if you're eating a healthy and balanced diet, you shouldn't need to supplement with a multivitamin.

On the other hand, if you’re a frequent traveler, have time restraints that prevent you from eating well or have poor access to a variety of fresh and healthy foods, you may want to consider taking a multivitamin as a safety net.

Another potential argument in favor of taking a multivitamin supplement is the depletion of soil over the last half-century. According to Scientific America due to modern intensive agricultural methods (those that prioritize size, growth rate, pest resistance. etc over nutrition) strip the soil of nutrients in which the food we eat grows. Regrettably, each successive generation of rapidly grown produce has less goodness than the one before. Certain fruits and vegetables grown in the 1950s likely had more protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, riboflavin (vitamin B2), and vitamin C than they would today. Forget your 5 servings or fruit and veg a day. You now need 10!

If in doubt about whether or not you should take a multivitamin supplement, consult your doctor or nearest health care professional.

Conclusion – Is Performance Lab’s Multivitamin the best?

After 3 months of taking the Performance Lab Multi and doing a great deal of research into vitamin and mineral supplements, I don't think I would ever consider taking anything other than a premium supplement. Performance Lab’s attention to detail, quality, and use of cutting edge technology to create a cleaner, whole food, and higher bioavailable vitamin and mineral supplement, make it hard to consider anything else. You tend to get what you pay for when it comes to supplements and with this particular product, you get a lot of goodness jam-packed into one (or 4) easy to swallow capsules!

I should also mention that their customer service was extremely good. They answered all my questions (of which there were a lot) quickly and in great detail.

My overall Score 9/10

Performance Lab is so confident that you’ll agree that it offers a money-back guarantee if you aren’t happy with their product.
